You don’t to be a professional to go in photography or even have an expensive camera to practice. If we look around the school, there’s so many things you can photograph. The buildings, your friends or even school events can make captivating pictures.
What’s also cool about taking pictures is that it captures the smallest details you might not notice during the moment. You can make your photography stand out with different angles, lightning and colours.
With the other graphic design classes, you can make a poster, you can edit your pictures or design something with the pictures you took. It’s all about editing and designing to catch people’s attention because you made something engaging and intriguing. And what’s amazing with combining photography and design is that you can create something that feels like you.
You can also experiment with different styles and ideas until you find something you personally like. Maybe you want your picture to look more bright and colourful, or maybe you prefer something darker and somber. When designing a poster, for example, you get to choose the colours, fonts, images, and layout, which gives you a lot of freedom to be creative.
Another cool thing is that you don’t always have to create something perfect. Sometimes your best ideas can come from just trying random things and seeing what works. What you can learn in photography is new techniques and slowly developing your own style.
