Who is behind the site: Elena Bejuc
Hey, I am Elena Bejuc, an almost 20 year old montreal graphic design student. I immigrated here in Canada with my parents when I was only 2 and half years old. When I was 7, my little brother was born, so a big aged gap between us.
I’ve been more of an artsy person as long as I remember, which makes my choice of program understandable. I have so many ideas of what I want to do, that it helps with the projects I have to do for school. I love that I can be expressive and to be able to communicate ideas that I can show through my designs.
As the years passed, I am starting to have a passion in photography, more specifically in hockey. I’m trying to get more out there, but I am starting with this sport because it is a fast paced sport and there’s a lot happening at the same time. It also helps that I know people who play it which makes it easier. I also like taking pictures around the school for any projects I have to do, for example the nature around it or even the students having fun.
For many years, I like to read fantasy or romance books, or even police novels. I love reading because it’s my way to decompress during quiet time or even explore a new universe. Even if it is a non-fiction book, it helps me get new knowledge to understand people or the world. I also enjoy doing friendship bracelets because I can choose my own colours and patterns, a way to express my personal style. I love making it for the people I love, giving it as a small gift make their day better.
Schooling as a Montreal Graphic design student
- All my life, I’ve been going to French schools, but then I had the chance to go to an English school for college. I am currently a Graphic Design student at John Abbott College in Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue. I’ve been a student since 2025 and expected to graduate in 2028. I do live near the school, but the commute here is very long. It could take up to an hour to an hour and a half each way. It’s very much worth it because I have the opportunity to learn and to develop my skills. Since I enjoy photography, I want to go into this industry in sports like in the National League of Hockey for the Montreal Canadians or even in the Major League of Baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays. I really love how photographers capture moments in a fast-paced environment and to be able to edit to be posted for the fans to see their favourite team. I also hope that I can use my graphic design projects as an idea because it does involve a lot of sports. I would like to develop my photography and editing skills so that I can reach a good amount of experience that can help me enter the sports photography industry right after graduation.

Montreal Graphic Design Career objectives
- As a graphic design student, my career objectives is to gain experience and develop strong skills that match my strengths and interests in the professional field. I want to understand better the importance of design, like the typography, the layout, or even the colour theory, the different areas to explore of graphic design. During my school years, my main goal is to build a strong portfolio, by including multiple of my projects I did in a professional way. I would put myself more in a freelance opportunity for more experience to see how the industry works. Having these goals is to help me have a successful career.
